Education WorkAs part of the Museums Service, education and outreach are important parts of our work and are listed as such in our Mission Statement. Whenever possible, we encourage school visits and public open days on our sites. Open days are advertised in the local press or on notice boards on site. Not all sites are suitable for public visits due to health and safety considerations. Our involvement in the Nevis project, organised by Southampton University and the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society, includes taking African-Caribbean students from Bristol to learn about excavation techniques and life on a sugar plantation. A school visit to excavations at Inns Court | The site open day on the Union Street excavations. Over 5000 people visited the site in one day. | |||||||
