introducing BaRAS One of the UK’s premier archaeological units, BaRAS has unparalleled knowledge of Bristol city having served it and the surrounding southwest for over 30 years. BaRAS is part of Bristol Museums and Art Gallery in the Cultural Services division of Bristol City Council. The unit is based in St Nicholas Church, in the heart of the medieval city. BaRAS works all over the region, undertaking projects as far afield as Berkshire and Cornwall as well as closer to home, and is also involved in the Nevis Heritage Project.
