Open Doors Day 2009

On Saturday 12th September, 2009, Bristol & Region Archaeological Services (BaRAS) will once more be participating in Bristol Open Doors Day. The event which will run from 10.00am to 4.00pm will give members of the public the chance to visit the offices of BaRAS, which are in the historic St Nicholas Church in the heart of the old City of Bristol.

Visitors will be able to see inside this 18th century church with its original 13–14th century vaulted crypt, and will also have the opportunity to view the large 1756 Hogarth altarpiece, which is a triptych depicting the Ascension, the Sealing of the Sepulchre and the Three Marys. There will also be an up-to-date display of the recent work of BaRAS.
